For Districts & Charter Networks

Your Title I family engagement dollars, already required to be spent — put toward something with verified results.

Parent Potential is a parent-training program built around five simple routines, designed to satisfy Title I, Part A family engagement requirements — created by a career school principal, backed by real California state testing data.

No purchase commitment required to talk — most districts start with a conversation, then a small pilot.
The Requirement

This isn't optional spending. It's already budgeted.

Under ESSA Section 1116, any LEA with a Title I, Part A allocation exceeding $500,000 must reserve at least 1% specifically for parent and family engagement activities — workshops, family literacy programs, and communication tools that involve families in their children's education.

1%

of Title I allocation must be reserved for family engagement, for districts over $500,000

90%

of that reserve must go directly to Title I schools, prioritizing highest need

Annual

evaluation is required — districts must show engagement activities are working

Direct Fit

Built for exactly what the law asks for

ESSA lists specific allowable uses for this set-aside. Here's how Parent Potential maps onto them.

Verified Results

Real state testing data, not internal claims

The routines behind this program come directly from the founder's own work as a school principal.

How Districts Get Started

A straightforward path, not a long procurement maze

1

Conversation

A short call to understand your family engagement goals and current Title I plan

2

Small pilot

A limited rollout at one or two schools, with clear evaluation built in from day one

3

Review results

Participation data and family feedback, ready for your required annual evaluation

4

Scale

Expand district-wide once the pilot shows what you need to see

From a principal, not a vendor

Parent Potential was built by a career educator — a founding charter principal and, most recently, an elementary school principal in Culver City Unified. This program grew directly out of watching what actually moved outcomes at two very different schools: not a new curriculum, but parents given a simple, confident way to be involved.

Questions

Common questions from district teams

Can this be purchased with Title I, Part A funds?

Yes — the program is designed to align with the allowable uses described in ESSA Section 1116 for the required 1% family engagement set-aside. We recommend confirming specific allowability with your district's Title I coordinator, as implementation details vary by state and district.

Do you require a full district-wide commitment to start?

No. Most districts start with a small pilot at one or two schools before considering a broader rollout.

Is this only for Title I schools?

The program works for any school, but it's specifically built to help districts satisfy Title I family engagement requirements where those funds are available.

What does the program include for a pilot?

Grade-level card decks and guided notebooks for participating families, access to the free digital toolbox, and at least one live parent workshop — scoped to your pilot size in an initial conversation.

Do you also offer a full independent-study curriculum?

Yes — for families or schools that need a complete course of study rather than a supplemental engagement program, see our Independent Study Program.

Let's talk about your family engagement goals.

No commitment required — just a conversation about what your district needs and whether a small pilot makes sense.
